Baby Update Week 32!

Being out of power has made it a little difficult to get the blog done, let alone upload some pictures so everyone will have to wait for the next picture!

Baby Size: We are now the size of a butternut squash!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
Getting more and more uncomfortable by the day so sweatpants would be a wonderful addition to the work clothes but I don't see that happening!

How Mom's feeling:
Getting a little more tired again. Sadly, I can no longer wear any of my wedding rings. And the swelling of the ankles has begun. Its not terrible but by the time the evening rolls around the ankles are a little swollen. Having a few more aches and pains but nothing too terrible.

What's Growing This Week:
We should be about 3.75 lbs by now and about 16.7 inches long. Mom should be gaining about 1 lb a week, half of which goes to this little girl. We now have toenails, fingernails and real hair!! We can't wait to see what color it is!!

Baby Movement:
We had a quiet day the other day but things are back to normal for sure. I can't even imagine what things would feel like if I didn't have an anterior placenta. Those ladies bellies must be rocking and rolling all day long! Its always fun when daddy gets to feel the movements. Sorry to report that no one else has been able to feel the baby move. Maybe over the next few weeks as she really grows out of space.

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Nothing. Nada. I wish I had a craving for something. It would make deciding whats for dinner a whole lot easier!

What's New in the Baby Room:
Nothing this week. We were busy with the family room project. We still have a few last minute things to do so hopefully we will get those done over the next few weeks.

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
Well I got no suggestions for X Y Z. We have been doing fairly well keeping the name a secret. Grandma Borchers now doesn't WANT to know the name until she arrives so for now we are still keeping it a secret.

What I'm looking forward to:
Sonogram tomorrow!!!! We will be able to see just how big this little one is getting, possibly see if she has any hair tho we won't know the color just yet. We'll also be able to see which way she is positioned.

I am also looking forward to the baby shower coming up this weekend! I'm sure we'll get lots of fun pics there!

What I miss:
Being able to walk up the stairs without getting out of breath.

Excitement of the week:
I think it was more like disappointment of the week because baby class was cancelled last night due to the lovely winter weather. So we didn't get to take our tour of Labor and Delivery. Hopefully the weather will clear up and next week we can take our tour!

Baby Update Week 31!

How far along: 31 Weeks!

Baby Size: We are now the size of a butternut squash!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
Everything continues to get a bit snugger around the mid section. Go figure!
I think I will have to break down this weekend and find some more comfortable shoes that slip on and don't require me to bend over!

How Mom's feeling:
Pretty good for the most part. Had a doctors appointment last week and we are now going every 2 weeks. Next week we have a doctors appointment and a sonogram! Yay!

What's Growing This Week:
We are now about 16 inches long and weigh about 3.3 lbs. Getting big!! We are heading into a growth spurt and mom doesn't know exactly where we are going to grow because there doesn't seem to be much room left!! This little girl can turn her head from side to side and all of her extremities are getting nice and plump. Lots of movement means we have an active and healthy little one!

Baby Movement:
My, my, my. The past few days have been very busy in the belly. I can tell we are quickly growing out of room as the "kicks" are more like pushes. Movement is pretty constant all day long. Tho it is still hard to feel some of it from the outside, we will find out next week if the placenta has moved at all. I was laughing the other day because she gave me one good push and it seemed like she was planning to stay there so mom had to push back a little to get her to move.

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Breakfast food has actually been pretty high on the list lately. I love some yummy waffles and veggie links!

What's New in the Baby Room:
All is quiet in the baby room this week. We have been working on our family room project. I'll put up some pictures of that so everyone can see! Hopefully we will be able to get that project complete before this little girl arrives!

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week X Y Z is for.... I can't imagine we are going to have many suggestions for any of these letters so I'm grouping them all together!

What I'm looking forward to:
Next week's sonogram! It will be our last one before this little girl arrives. We are hoping she will be in a good position and getting ready to make her way out without too much trouble!

What I miss:
Pain free days, a good nights sleep (I think I had to get up 4 times last night to use the bathroom) and the ability to roll over in bed without losing my breath! Oh the biggest one wold be my pre pregnancy brain! I swear I used to be smart and I could come up with the words I was looking for but these days I'm not sure I could even get out of high school!

Excitement of the week:
We continue to work on our breathing techniques in baby class. Its hard not to laugh. I was told I was doing a wonderful job with my breathing! Not sure how hard breathing is supposed to be, but apparently some just don't get it! Next week we get to see the Labor and Delivery Unit at the hospital so that will be exciting.

We watched a video last night of an epidural and I think Dad has decided he may leave the room while I get that. We'll see. I think he'll be fine if he's sitting in a chair.

I'm also getting excited about the upcoming baby shower! Should be loads of fun!

So I was thinking we should see if anyone has any guesses on when this little girl will make her arrival. We are just over 2 months away from the big day. Tho, very few babies are actually born on their due dates. So any guesses???

Here are some pictures of our family room project! Matt did a great job taking down all the trim and getting things ready for the new drywall!

We will not miss the wallpaper or the wood paneling........

I think it looks 150% better already so no need to paint right??

Next up sanding, painting, baseboard and then new carpet!! Wohoo!!

Baby Update Week 30!

Every morning I say its picture day, Jack runs out and sits himself on the rug by the stairs. I think he likes having his picture taken!

How far along: 30 Weeks!

Baby Size: We are now the size of a butternut squash!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
It is getting more and more difficult to get comfortable, even in preggo clothes.
If only I could wear sweatpants and a t-shirt to work, I'd be golden. Shoes are going to become a problem in the very near future since I hate to admit it but I think my feet are slightly growing (and swelling). Plus, its getting harder and harder to bend over and pick up those shoes!

How Mom's feeling:
I've had a couple rough days probably because I wasn't sleeping very well but the past 2 nights have been wonderful. I am hoping that pattern continues, but I know that it is unlikely!

What's Growing This Week:
Well, we are about 15.7 inches long and we weigh almost 3 lbs. As she continues to grow the space she has left will get smaller and smaller, leaving her not much room to move around. Her eyesight is continuing to develop and she will only be able to see things a few inches from her face for a little while after she is born. We can only hope that she gets daddy's eyesight and not mommys or else she will only ever be able to see things a few inches from her face!

Baby Movement:
We are moving pretty much all the time these days. Lots of rolling around for sure. Dad is still the only one who has been able to feel her move since the placenta is absorbing a lot of the kicks we would normally be able to feel from the outside.

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Not much comes to mind. Of course, I do love the sweets! Probably a little too much. Its a good thing Aunt Chelsea is getting married a few months after this little girl arrives...it will be great incentive to get rid of all the wonderful baby weight.

What's New in the Baby Room:
Nothing new this week. Dad has moved on to bigger and better projects!

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week W is for....

What I'm looking forward to:
Our next sonogram is in a few weeks. We have sailed through the 20s and I think the end may be in sight....10 weeks and counting! Matt is joking that he wants a St. Patty's day baby. We have concerns that it might teach her a few bad habits.

What I miss:
Being able to move around and do things without getting tired.

Excitement of the week:
Baby class continues. Last night we talked about and worked on massage for mommy! Our homework is to continue practicing massages! Can't argue with that!

Dad is doing a great job learning things for class. He was certainly the star dad with all the answers last night!

Matt started working on the family room project. So we can hopefully get all of that done before little one arrives.

My how we have grown..... 14 weeks.....

20 weeks....

30 weeks....

Baby Update Week 29!

How far along: 29 Weeks!

Baby Size: We are now the size of a butternut squash!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
It has been cold this week so sweaters it has been.

How Mom's feeling:
Other than the hip/sciatic pain, I'm feeling pretty good. It's been easier to stay awake a little later but its getting harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning.

What's Growing This Week:
This week we weigh about 2.5 lbs and are about 15 inches long. This little girls muscles and lungs are continuing to mature and her head is growing to make room for her developing brain. She is stealing calcium from me everyday so I am supposed to be drinking my milk. She also has increasing demands for protein, vitamin C, folic acid and iron.

Baby Movement:
I think this little girl has her head up by mom's lungs and her kicking feet down by mom's cervix. Some of our kicks have taken mom's breath away.

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
I had some wonderful taco bell last night. Haven't had that in quite a while. I'm sure it filled all of the nutritional requirements of a good meal ;-) Dad was a little jealous he passed up on it because it smelled so yummy!

What's New in the Baby Room:
This baby room is about 99% done!! Dad worked super hard this past weekend to get everything on mom's list done. Matt finished putting up the miniblinds, put up the curtain rods with the valances and took on the big closet project. He took out the one shelf that was in there and put in new shelves and a new clothes rod. It looks great!

New closet shelves!

New closet doors.

A few of the final touches....eventually we will put this little girls name up on the shelf above the mirror

Jack is just happy that he gets a good spot to be the big protector of the baby!

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week V is for....

What I'm looking forward to:
I am looking forward to a fun and exciting spring! Baby showers and this little girl's arrival!

What I miss:
Comfortable sleeping.

Excitement of the week:
We started baby classes last night. There are 4 couples in the class. We were originally scheduled for a Thursday class but they called and said it was quite full and asked if we wouldn't mind moving to Wednesday. Its a good thing we did! The room is not very large and with the 4 couples it can get crowded. I don't know how they are going to get 9 couples in that room tonight!

Since we are at the hospital we will be delivering at the instructor can give us a little more info on how things will go at that hospital. Of course there are movies and then "floor time." Matt and I are having a hard time not laughing at some of this stuff. I'm hopeful that we will learn something useful.

Baby Update Week 28!

How far along: 28 Weeks! THIRD TRIMESTER!!! :-)

Baby Size: Eggplant and growing!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
Mom got some nice new things for Christmas!

How Mom's feeling:
Bigger. This lovely belly is starting to get in the way. Its getting harder and harder to bend over and pick things up off the floor!

What's Growing This Week:
We now weigh in at about 2 1/4 lbs. and we are about 14.8 inches long. This little girl can blink her eyes and has eye lashes! She is working on plumping up to join the outside world.

Baby Movement:
Our activity is pretty constant. The other day this little girl was practicing her karate moves because mom was feeling kicks and punches on one side of the belly and dad was feeling them on the other! This morning it was more of a movement across my stomach that daddy and I got to feel. Some days her kicks are more painful than others depending on which way she is situated but mom loves them anyways! Uncle Ricky is getting upset because he keeps missing all of the little one's activities.

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Hmmm... I've been enjoying quite a few bananas these days.

What's New in the Baby Room:
We are still working on the last finishing touches so nothing much new. Its been a busy Holiday week!

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week T & U is for....

What I'm looking forward to:
Getting all the little projects around the house done before this little girl arrives.

Baby classes start next week!! Fun fun!!

What I miss:
The ability to move around and get things done without feeling totally wiped out.

Excitement of the week:
Starting the 3rd Trimester!!! 2/3 of the way there! About 85 days left!! Mom and Dad are getting really excited!

Baby Update Week 26!

How far along: 26 Weeks!

Baby Size: Still an eggplant!

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
Things seem to be getting tighter around the belly. I got some new shirts in a bigger size for the winter months.

How Mom's feeling:
This week has been pretty good. We have a lot of fun Holiday things going on to keep me distracted from any discomfort.

What's Growing This Week:
The nerves in her ears have been growing and are much more sensitive these days so she is more likely to be able to hear things around her and hear us when we are talking. She is inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid which will help in the development of her lungs. We now weigh about a 1lb and 2/3 and are about 14 inches long.

Baby Movement:
We certainly have our active times. She tends to wake me up most mornings with a kick here or there and then when its time to go to bed she starts moving around as well. I think she is trying to train me on how little sleep I will get!

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Nothing new and exciting this week. I could really use a margarita tho!

What's New in the Baby Room:
Well it has been a busy week in the baby room! Matt surprised me by getting all the furniture in there last week and over the weekend we finished up a lot of things. Still have a few things to do but we are well on our way! Here are a few pictures.

We are going to get the letters to spell her name to go on the shelf above the mirror. Maybe I'll sneek in a letter or two....

We still have some wall decals and pictures to hang but the majority of the items are all set to go.

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week S is for....

What I'm looking forward to:
The New Year! Its super exciting to think that in just 3 short months we will have a little baby with us!

The third trimester to begin! We are almost there only 2 weeks left to go! I know its supposed to be the harder trimester but I'm oddly looking forward to getting a bigger belly!

Baby classes...they will be starting the beginning of January. Should be entertaining. We should get to see / visit the hospital so that will be fun as well.

What I miss:
I could really go for a soda and a margarita!
I also really really really miss my clear skin. Sadly, I think this will be a recurring theme over the next few months.

Excitement of the week:
Getting the baby room almost finished!

Breaking the 100 day mark! We only have 98 days left to go!!!

Matthew also had a bit of excitement this week. He got a Christmas present from his parents a little early this year. I think it might distract from all the stuff left around the house that needs to be done! But I think he's gonna have tons of fun and as grandpa paul said babies can play pool too! We aren't sure how Jack is going to like this new addition as this was his run around room and now there isn't much space left to run around.

Baby Update Week 25!

How far along: 25 Weeks!

Baby Size: Looks like we will be sporting a nice eggplant for the next few weeks.

Krystal's Weight Gain::
Enough! ;-)

Maternity Clothes:
The belly is not a fan of much touching it. So we have to stick to the wonderful preggo pants or I did find a pair of flannel pants matt had and they are big enough for now!

How Mom's feeling:
Well I could run down a list of complaints but I'll try not to. The worst one tho has been the hip / sciatic nerve pain. If labor is anything like that pain then I think I"ll be okay.

What's Growing This Week:
We are about 13.5 inches long and our weight is just about a pound and a half. We are gaining some baby fat so that we can round out and smooth out that wrinkly skin. We are also growing a bit of hair and if we could see in there we would even be able to tell what color it is! Anyone have any guesses on what color hair we will have???

Baby Movement:
Though we are not feeling a ton of movement from the outside, I am noticing much more on the inside. Its a strange feeling at times! I will say, and I'm sure someone would tell me I'm crazy but I have noticed several times that when Matt gets home and starts talking the baby tends to start moving a bit more! Already, she loves daddy more than mommy!

Food Cravings and Dislikes:
I still like to have suggestions or something to spark my interest but I seem to be on a Subway sandwich kick this week.

What's New in the Baby Room:
Matt is working to get things finished. Still have a bit of trim painting to do and then we can move in the furniture! I'm hoping for things to be finished before Christmas!!

Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week R is for....

What I'm looking forward to:
A busy but fun Holiday season! Baking, baking and more baking. I am in a baking cookies mood lately! Just hope I don't eat them all!!

What I miss:
Being comfortable
Not being tired all the time

Excitement of the week:
The rocking chair arrived! It is nice and comfy and I can see spending many hours there! Jack is already a fan, which is not good.

We went to Ikea and got the last few pieces that I think we will need for the babies room. I am really excited to get that finished!!!
