Let the Summer begin!!

Abigail is officially ready for summer! Mom broke out her summer outfits (even tho they are still a tad bit too big!). By the time Labor Day rolls around I think she will fit in them just fine!

We are weighing in this week at over 9 lbs!! About 9.2 actually. Mom couldn't be more thrilled. We have almost doubled our weight in just a little over 2 months! Everyone continues to ask if Abigail ever cries because it is a rare occurence. Mom and Dad continue to be thrilled and Mom thinks that a happy first baby is God's gift to encourage you to have a second! We can only hope that our next baby is just as happy but we have a while until we will find that out!

As I mentioned Abigails summer wardrobe has been released so we will get to see all the fun and pretty outfits. She has so many I don't know if we will get to see them all. She really needs a day on the red carpet to show off her style!

Abby continues to come with mom to work on Fridays. So far so good. She does fairly well and everyone loves to see her.

Our newest thing this week....a cold. I think Daddy gave it to her. So mornings are quite upsetting with lots of coughing and sneezing and the ever so fun nose cleaning! She tolerates it as best as she can. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon!

This weekend was a record in the smiles department. We made a trip to the lake and Abigail had a fantastic time. She got to meet lots of new people and she was the hit of the weekend. Mom and dad did a great job at packing and bringing everything they could possibly need for Abby and the dog.....however we forgot one key item...our very own bag of clothes! Oops! Thankfully we did come with toiletries and we arrived Saturday and left Sunday morning so we survived! Guess mom needs to start a list for any future trips!

Abby has been showing off her leg strength lately. She prefers to be sitting up or standing up and looking at what's going on around her. Abigail absolutely loves her bumbo and dad loves to help her look very relaxed sitting there as you will see in some of the pictures. Abby has also been doing quite a bit of "talking" lately. Lots of cooing and gooing and other adorable baby noises!

Here are some pictures from the lake and the past week. I don't know if its me but her hair seems to have quite a shade of red in some of the pictures.

2 Months old!

It's hard to believe Abigail is already 2 months old! Time really does fly. It's hard to remember what we've done each week. My brain seems to be more preoccupied with making sure Abigail is fed and changed.

We had our 2 month doctors appointment this week. Abigail now weighs 8 lbs 8 oz. Yay!! However, that only puts us in the 2nd percentile for weight! But as the doctor said at least we are on the chart now! Abigail has done quite a bit of growing so mom continues to hope she will be tall. Abby is now 22 inches long which puts her in the 17th percentile. Her head has taken off by leaps and bounds putting her in the 27th percentile and the doctor assured us that her body will catch up. Mom is also hoping this is a sign of a very intelligent baby!

Abby got her shots at the doctor as well. She took it like a champ! There was a bit of screaming but she was easily calmed and soon happy again. Gramma got the worst of the shot repercussions with a very distraught and inconsolable Abby later that afternoon. Thankfully, gramma has a lot of patience for this little girl.

All of Abigails newborn clothes are beginning to get a little tight so we are going to start to take the leap into 3 month clothes! She will be swimming in most of them but will grow into them for sure.

Here are some of Abby's latest photo's

I am always so amused to find Abby and daddy sleeping in the same position that I can't resist a picture!

Sleeping Beauty.... :-)

Abigail loves to sit up these days and she does a great job as long as she is propped up against something.

I couldn't resist this one, sleeping with her leg propped up on dad.

She is going to be one styling princess!

Abby has finally grown into her first Jack outfit! Fear not, there is another one where that came from for a bigger Abby!

Grandpa's Girl for sure! :-)

Abby loves her bumbo! She can make it for a few minutes before she gets too tired

Happy Mother's Day!

I guess to say that our week has been busy will get quite redundant as I feel pretty confident that from here on out all of our weeks are going to be busy!

It is so amazing to see all of Abigails changes each week. We have successfully discovered our thumb. If it were just a little bit bigger we might be able to suck on it. Abigail is also perfecting her mimicking. She will talk to you and try to mimick your sounds. Her favorite seems to be the "oooo" Of course it is absolutely adorable. Uncle Ricky would like her first word to be Bubba so he is working on that with her.

BIG NEWS.....Abigail weighs 8 lbs 3 oz!!! Finally! Mom is extremely pleased. Also in big news as we were getting our pajamas on for bed last night we discovered that Abigail no longer fits in her newborn PJ's! I should have taken a picture but there was no way she was gonna fit. So we have definately gained some length. Her belly has thinned out again which is another sign that we have had a growth spurt. Mom is anxious to see where we are at when we get to the doctor. Even more exciting is she may actually fit in some of her summer clothes!

Abby came to work with mom for the day on Friday. Everything went well. She did a great job hanging out in her sling and letting mom get some work done. We also went to Gymboree class on Friday. I know we are a little young for class now but as we get bigger I think she really is going to love it. Plus, it gives mom a good excuse to spend some quality mom and abby time together!

We had Mother's Day at our house this year and we were lucky to have great weather. Here are some pictures from the week.

My how we have grown.....

First day home from the hospital

Almost 8 weeks old.

If I concentrate.....

Really hard.....

I can get this thing in my mouth!

All that hard work made her so sleepy.....isn't she cute!

Abigail went to work with Mom on Friday. We tried out one of our slings for a few hours and she did fantastic. Mom was even able to get some work done using BOTH hands!

Here is one of those early morning smiles that mom loves soooo much!

Abigail and Jack are becoming best buds.

Dad loves to sit Abigail up and really Abigail prefers to sit up rather than to be held laying down. She was looking at Dad who was standing in front of her.

I know everyone is thinking Uncle Robby must have gotten Abigail this shirt but it was actually Gramma. I bet you don't know what the shirt actually says....its not Mini Cooper...its Mini Pooper. Which really is not fitting for this little lady she seems to be more of a mega pooper! I'm sure she will love me for saying that when she's older!

Some pictures from Mother's Day cookout

Again, Dad trying to get Abigail to sit up. She doesn't look terribly pleased!
