How far along: 15 Weeks!
Baby Size: Apple
Krystal's Weight Gain:
About the same 8-9lbs.
What's Growing This Week:
This week we are 4 inches long and weigh 2.5 oz. Our eyelids are still fused shut but we can sense light. So apparently if we point a flash light at the belly the baby will most likely try to move away from the light. Taste buds are forming this week. And apparently if we were having an ultrasound this week we could probably find out the sex of the baby! Too bad we don't have that scheduled yet!
Food Cravings and Dislikes:
We've had quite a bit of Mexican this week but I can't say its a craving. I do think I am "craving" veggie food. I would prefer that over chicken anyday, which is not normal for me.
What's New in the Baby Room:
Dad put our crib together to make sure all the parts were in there and looked good! The guest bed is still in there for the moment and its tempting to leave a bed in there for mom for those every 2 hour feedings!
Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week is H for.......
What I'm looking forward to:
Feeling the baby move! I am super excited about this one! I think it is probably still a few weeks off but I think we are getting close. I've heard you are more likely to feel the baby move when you are laying down or resting. Problem is as soon as I lay down to rest or go to bed I fall asleep! So maybe I'm missing it!
We are also looking forward to picking out all the baby stuff! There is so much more stuff to choose from and so many patterns! Fun times!!
I started this blog to show our progress over our 9 months to baby bliss! So far we have had 2 wonderful years with our princess and it looks like life may be getting a bit more busy! Stay tuned!

Baby Update Week 14!
How far along: 14 Weeks! The 2nd Trimester begins!!
Baby Size: A Lemon! So don't kill me but about 2 weeks ago I said we were about the size of a lemon when it was actually a lime! oops....my pregnancy brain really is beginning to fail me!
Krystal Size:
I broke down and bought some preggo clothes. Let me tell you, this momma to be is WAY more comfortable! Of course, everyone at work "knows" I'm pregnant even though I haven't really told them but I think it's about time. We went to the doctor today and it looks like we've gained about 8 lbs. Probably a little more than we should have but the doctor said its okay.
What's Growing This Week:
Can you believe we can now squint, grimace, frown, possibly suck our thumb and PEE. Oh how fun! Our Kidneys are working now and we are excreting urine into our amniotic fluid. Sounds just lovely! We are doing a bit of stretching out too. We are now 3.5 inches long and weigh 1.5 oz.
Morning Sickness:
I am hoping I can safely say that Morning / Afternoon / Evening sickness is done and over with. HOWEVER, in its place is gas, bloating, constipation and indigestion. So really, I'm not sure which I would prefer to have?!?!
Food Cravings and Dislikes:
So far this has been quite a boring cravings pregnancy. I am slightly afraid of the spicy as it didn't do so well early on but I might give it a venture again.
What's New in the Baby Room:
We have baby furniture! Being the lucky lady that I am, I got a great coupon for babies 'r' us and we got an awesome deal on a crib, dresser and changing table.
Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week is G for.......
In case anyone was wondering I think that Jared's suggestion of Fuschia is the front runner at this point! ;-)
What I'm looking forward to:
Finding out the sex of the baby! We have a few more weeks but hopefully they will fly by!
Events over the past week:
We had a wonderful vacation in Vegas and Wisconsin. We were able to be there for our friends Eric & Teri's wedding, which was beautiful!
I think over the past few weeks we have let most everyone know that we are expecting! I don't know if we have missed anyone but they will find out soon enough!
Our friends Jerry, Eleni and little Eva got us a cute baby gift. It is a picture frame designed to hold sonogram pictures and then you can put a caption at the bottom. It's perfect. I brought it to work today to put on my desk and it reads "coming soon." It's a great way to let everyone know!

Baby Update Week 13
How far along: 13 Weeks!
Baby Size: We are about the size of a medium shrimp this week!
Krystal Size:
Not much new to report this week. Think we are slowly beginning to look more pregnant than "large" but who knows.
What's Growing This Week:
We have fingerprints! Our body is starting to catch up with our head this week. If we are having a girl she would now have over 2 million eggs in her ovaries. We are about 3 inches long and we weigh just about an ounce.
Morning Sickness:
Knock on wood, I think the worst is indeed over. I have had the occasional afternoon nausea but nothing too bad.
Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Well, I think we have a new food that is not cooperating with us and that seems to be sweets. Since we are on vacation, who can resist a little ice cream...well I will from now on. It just doesn't seem to like me back as much as I like it!
What's New in the Baby Room:
The baby room has transformed back into the guest room. Uncle Robby has decided to start some renovations to the basement to build a little apartment and so the guest stuff had to come back upstairs.
Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week is F for.......
What I'm looking forward to:
Everyone finally knowing that we are having a baby!!!
We have been on vacation this week and it has been wonderful to relax and not think about anything! We saw Blue Man Group and today we went to the Grand Canyon. We have one day left before we head to Wisconsin. Then back home on Sunday.

NT Scan
Well this little guy (or girl) is a mover! We had our NT scan this morning and he seemed to be all over the place. He seems to be a big fan of standing on his head. We got to see quite a few different angles.
Happy to report that we did see two arms and two legs! We won't have full results until next week. We got to hear the heartbeat, saw the spine and lots of legs and feet! Finally he turned over and she could get some of the measurements that she needed.
The doctor said he couldn't make a definitive guess on sex so we still don't know that yet. Hopefully the little one will cooperate with the next sonogram.
We got a few pictures but not any of the really good ones! I'll try to post them later.

Baby Update Week 12
How far along: 12 Weeks!
Baby Size: This week we are about the size of a lemon!
Krystal Size:
Well it looks like I will have a hard time hiding this any longer. Sometimes people's comments amuse me. I had someone at work say "I don't mean to be rude, but your belly is getting big and I don't know if I should congratulate you?" Oh, the joys of a growing belly. It is hard to tell at this point if I am pregnant or my belly is just growing. With a few more weeks, I think it will be pretty obvious. I have almost reached the end of my wardrobe, not much fits without my trusty hair tie make shift clasp. It's not perfect but it certainly helps!
What's Growing This Week:
This week we are developing reflexes. Fingers will soon be opening and closing and toes are able to curl. Eye and mouth muscles are also developing. Apparently if we prod the belly a bit the little guy will squirm in response, tho we can't feel it. Kidneys are starting to function too. Nerve cells are working overtime in the brain to get things going. Our eyes have moved to the front of our head and our ears are where they are supposed to be. All told we are just over 2 inches long.
Morning Sickness:
Not much new to report. I've had a few rocky afternoons but nothing significant.
Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Food has gotten difficult. I don't have any cravings and quite a few things do not appeal to me. So eating is becoming a challenge. I am trying hard to eat my fruits and veggies and steer clear of too many sweets. Some days are successful, others not so much!
What's New in the Baby Room:
We made our first trip to the baby store to look at furniture. We didn't pick anything definite but I think we have a better idea of what we like.
Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week is E for.......
Doctors Appointments:
We have an appointment tomorrow morning. Excited to get to see the little one again!
What I'm looking forward to:
Football has begun, which is awesome. This kid is gonna love football! We also leave on Sunday for our trip to Vegas and Wisconsin. Should be fun. Not sure how much gambling we will do but I hear there are tons of fun things to see in Vegas.
Dad continues to be a huge help. He has been doing tons of work and I don't know what I would do without him! While I fell asleep on the couch last night around 8pm, Matt did all the laundry! He's gonna be a great dad!
Now, a funny story about dad.....and hopefully he won't get too upset with me sharing.
We decided to spend our first anniversary checking out baby things and just enjoying the day together. We went to babies r us to look at furniture and other things. As we were walking around the furniture Matt says, these are much cheaper than I had thought they were! I said, Really? They seem pretty expensive to me! He then points to the tag inside the crib, which is attached to the bed linens and says something like $189. Sadly, I had to point out that $189 was the price for the bed linens and the tag hanging on the outside of the crib that said $529 was the price for the crib. Too bad, $189 would have been a great deal!
I must say it has been a long time since I have been around a lot of baby things. Did you know that baby swings are now automatic! No more cranking the handle to get the thing to go! I remember having to crank that dang thing over and over until my arm hurt so that Ricky could swing away.
Car seats - now come with what I'm gonna call side impact air bags! Its amazing really.
There are probably 3000 different types of strollers and just as many pack n plays! Everything now seems to come with some type of music attached so you can just push a button and let the music run. Matt was wondering where the iPod hookup was and I must admit, thats not a bad idea.
Happy Thursday!

Baby Update Week 11
How far along: 11 Weeks!
Baby Size: A Fig!
Krystal Size:
Same old same old. Nothing new to report.
What's Growing This Week:
This week we are seeing tooth buds forming under our gums and our bones are beginning to harden. Soon our hands will open and close into fists! We have lots of movement but nothing mom or dad can feel just yet. Apparently, now that we have a developing diaphragm we also have hiccups!
Morning Sickness:
Knock on wood, I think the worst of it is over! Lets keep our fingers crossed. I still need to eat every 4 hours or so but I seem to be getting a few less complaints if is more like 5 or 6 hours.
Food Cravings and Dislikes:
Nothing strange or out of the ordinary this week.
What's New in the Baby Room:
Nothing....but we are going to start looking at furniture and things. Not much else we can do until we know if we are having a boy or a girl!
Baby Names & Grandparent Names:
This week is D for.......
Doctors Appointments:
We have a few appointments coming up. One before our trip and one after. Should be able to get to see the little bugger again soon!
What I'm looking forward to:
Well I was looking forward to Football. Then we went to the Ravens pre-season game and I either caught myself a lovely cold or being outside triggered up some allergies. Either way, I have been one unhappy lady the past 3 days. I think things are getting a little better so here's hoping this funk goes away soon!
