A little catch up

I've been delinquent, I know. I apologize to all those who regularly check on pictures! Here are a few from the past few months.

I'm having a bit of difficulty with my phone so it's not wanting to transfer the pics I've taken with it to my computer. I will keep trying!

Abigail working on her Valentines for her Grandparents

Oh the hair!

How can you not love that smile!

Helping mommy clean the kitchen

Bathroom progress. You should see it now!!

Something is a little backwards with this picture!

Abigail and Jack spent one morning watching for the snow that never came! :-(

My bubble girl!

Snow! Finally! (sort of!)

The Birthday Girl! Such a cutie pie!

Think we have our next American Idol in training!

Watching the dolphins at the Aquarium

Dyeing Easter Eggs.....she LOVED it

She would have done this all day if we let her

Such concentration

We had to search inside for Easter Eggs because of the weather but she had a great time!

We recently went to the petting farm with some of our friends. Abigail had no fears walking up to HUGE animals!
Feeding the goats

We have had a busy few months and with summer right around the corner we are excited to be outside all the time! If the yucky rainy weather would just clear up we would be golden!

Abigail continues to amaze us everyday with new words, phrases and sentences. We are giving potty training a bit more thought and she seems to be open to it. I may bite the bullet and hit it head on next weekend. Still just not a fan of having to potty everywhere we go! But we have to do it sometime!

January february fun

Well it could be that I take too many pictures, it could be that I am just not as technologically savvy as some or it could just be that today I should not have used the computer but this has taken me forever to accomplish! In any case, here are pictures from January 22 - February 10, 2013. It's a bit long. I need to add an addendum to my picture a day goal - post 1 x a week to cut down on the length!   I'll try! :-)

I found this one on daddy's phone. Abigail loves his hat! This one is from earlier in January

Jan 22 - Abigail playing with her computer keyboard and wearing her teddy bear backpack! This girl is ready for school.

Mom and Dad went to a basketball game this evening and Nonnie stayed with Abigail, who fell fast asleep on the changing table right before bedtime.

Jan. 23 - Abigail was coming down with a bit of a cold but we ventured out to meet our friends at the new Childrens Museum at National Harbor.
Climbing ever so slowly...she was a bit shy about climbing through this one

LOVED the fire truck.

The Children's Museum is fantastic. It opened not that long ago and while its a bit of a drive, it is well worth it during the winter (minus all the germs that I'm just sure we picked up!) It is also a bit expensive, however if you buy the annual pass, it is well worth it. We hope to be making a few trips back here before spring!

January 24 - My husband sent me this lovely picture of our  soda fridge in the garage. Hmmmm.....love that diet soda, but not so much loving the mess I got to clean up!

Mommy's new do!

January 25 - SNOW, finally "some" snow! We bundled up and headed out!

Abigail and Mommy!

She really did enjoy the snow, she was running around and giggling.

Such my little cutie

January 26 - Today was work on the bathroom day! We laid out the floor tile for the bathroom floor and did a bit of prearranging to make sure we liked the flow of how it looked.

Turned out pretty fantastic!

My dad and Matt also put in the cement for the shower pan. Such progress!!!

January 27 - Matt put the grout down on the floor all by himself! He is quite proud of his work as am I.

January 28 - Abigail is teaching herself how to take pictures with mommy's phone. I did a little bit of help with this one but she can take them on her own, tho most usually of the ground.

Just a day in the life of this mom, cleanup, cleanup, cleanup. Usually Abigail does help cleanup but some days its just better to do it yourself. This isn't even a terrible day!

January 29 - Yes, 4 days ago it was snowing. Today it was 70 degrees!  There was NO way we were missing an opportunity to get outside and enjoy some sunshine.

We broke out the power wheels for some extra fun

If you look closely she is sticking out and biting down on her tongue. So cute!

My dare devil in training.

Mom got out the sidewalk chalk for some extra entertainment.

Abigail and Jack played in the back yard for a while.

Mom made an attempt at drawing a princess castle. Mom is not an artist by any stretch!

Abigail has a hard time with her "R's" so uncle Robby has become uncle Obby. It's quite cute.

Enjoying the weather, relaxing in her chair

January 30 - Abigail loves her rides on daddy's back.

Tho she easily becomes distracted with something on her finger and then

lets go completely and freaks daddy out.

January 31 - Abigail has been battling a cold, a terrible one. Which for some reason meant she did not want to sleep in her crib. So mom left her in her room and came back a few minutes later to find her curled up on the floor with her blankies and teddy, sound asleep.

The Cabinet came the cabinets came!

This was in the morning before naptime, she loves to draw mommy a picture on her chalkboard.

February 1 - Today she opted that she wanted to sleep on the floor yet again but this time right in front of her crib.

On my way home from taking Jack to the Vet, we came across a herd of deer crossing the street in our neighborhood. There were 12 of them

Jack was not too happy to watch them from the inside of the car.
Jack had his routine check up at the Vet. Our big boy has gained 3.5 lbs in 1 year! Hmmm.......I wonder if there is a behavior that has contributed to this weight gain....hmmm...I think her name might be Abigail!

February 2 - I think Abigail would sleep in Jacks cage if we let her.  Jack on the other hand does not like the company.

So cute!

Our first ride in our NEW Forward Facing carseat!! She was thrilled. "Ready, set goooo!!"    "Let's GOOOOO"

Her reaction to riding forward was priceless.

February 3 - SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! You would think the Ravens lost from this picture but someone was just too tired to make it to the end!
GOOOOO RAVENS.
Mom is holding out that next year it will be her team in the SuperBowl!

With all of her resistance to sleeping in her bed we decided that we would give a big girl bed a try. I was apprehensive that she would like it but figured it was worth a shot unless I was just going to let her continue sleeping on the floor.

So mom went on monday and bought the big girl bed, which had to be assembled. Luckily, Gramma had come to watch abigail while I made the trip to the store so she stuck around and we were able to get it put together all on our own. I had texted Matt that I was going to go pick up the bed and he said ok, I'll put it together when I get home so it was even more incentive for me to accomplish this task on my own! I can use some basic tools when I have to! :-)
February 4 - We brought her in to see the bed and she immediately jumped right in.

Asked for a pillow and laid down. Things have been going fantastic!

February 5 - My puppy

February 6 - We went and enjoyed a kids singer out at the Rio with some of our friends and then we got lunch. Abigail managed to stay awake today!

February 7 - Daddy has been working on the tile for the shower floor! Looking good!

Every evening Jack sits and waits for daddy to get home. I guess Abigail and I are chop liver!

January 8 - Abigail loves taking pictures and when she can see herself its even more entertaining.

Such a goofball!

Mommy and her cutie pi!

February 9 - Mom has a bright idea for Valentines Day so I needed a few cute pictures of the little one. She was happy to give me that cheeeeesy smile!

Her new thing is to pretend she is hiding......ALL THE TIME. She could be standing in the middle of the room but she will crouch down and say I'm hiding.  Super cute
Gramma and Papa came over to help with bathroom work and Abigail marched herself over to the food cabinet, pointed at a box of jiffy corn bread mix and threw a fit until we made it. This is our first cooking experience and she loved it.
Helping Gramma mix

Mixing, mixing

She even helped put the mix in the muffin tins!

Abigail decided that January 9 she did not want to nap, which meant she slept late on January 10, which snowballed into she probably isn't going to nap early enough for us to go to the game, sooooo I guess she is coming with us.

They handed out free little signs that curl up and you can pull them out and they say Maryland. PERFECT kid distraction!

Abigail's first sporting event hotdog. She loved it

Can't believe she actually did fall asleep during the game. Took a 40 minute or so nap and was good to go. Worked out PERFECTLY!

The past few weeks have been filled with coughs, hacking, snotty noses, crankiness, snotty noses and more snotty noses and it was the cold that wouldn't quit. I took Abigail to the doctor on a Thursday I think and we were back again the next wednesday and at that point we had been going at this for 2 weeks. They were nice enough to give us an antibiotic but I'm not sure that it helped at all. She just finished her 10 day dose of that and the cough is now finally gone (for the most part) The snotty nose is still lingering but not as bad as it had been. Fingers crossed this is the LAST illness we will have this winter. I feel like the poor thing has been sick since November!

Abigail is doing great with her speech. We are due for our 6 month assessment this month and our SLP feels pretty confident we may have reached the end of our treatment road. She now has names for pretty much everyone. I think the cutest ones so far are uncle "Obby",  uncle "bubba" and "papa"

Mama and dada have become Mommy and Daddy just this weekend. Its slightly sad but extremely cute.

She is growing up so fast. The amount she can do by herself and all the little things that make her smile and giggle are absolutely priceless. I cannot believe she is going to be 2 years old in just over a month. 2 years old!

Speaking of, this mom needs to plan a birthday party. She has 2 fascinations these days, Ice Age and Mickey. Every morning she asks to watch "Iceee" and when I say no she says "Mickey?" Its extremely cute. So I'm thinking we may go with a Mickey mouse theme.

In this house we are ready for spring and summer. I would normally say I'm very happy we avoided the blizzard of 2013 but since I wouldn't have to be at work for DAYS ON END, it would have been okay with me!! No, really 8-10 thats just about perfect.

I promise this bathroom project is going to get done at some point! My hope is within a month or so....  :-) :-) Then we have to move on to painting the master bedroom and getting new carpet in there and THEN we can move back in. So maybe by summer!?!?! We still have a lot to do but tons of progress over the past couple weeks.

Enjoy the week! Happy Valentine's Day!
