Time flies when you are having fun and that is certainly what we have been doing these past few weeks! This blog is long overdue and has encountered many technical difficulties but here it is!
Aunt Chelsea and Uncle Steve got married on the 16th of July! YAY!! We took a trip up to Rocky Gap for the festivities. Abby did amazingly well with the change in routine. We arrived Thursday to get setttled in before things began. Friday, Abby spent some time in the pool with daddy. I can't say that she loved it but she certainly didn't hate it. I think once she is a little older and has even more upper body control she will be a big fan. We visited a little beach they had there and Abby had her first experience with her feet in the sand. There are lots of fun pictures to see below!
We discovered that Abby is big enough and really enjoys sitting in her stroller without her carseat. She can see everything thats going on, she can kick kick kick away at the piece preventing her from sliding into the leg holes plus she can rest her feet up on the tray and sit back and relax like one spoiled baby!
Saturday Abby spent the day with Gramma as Daddy played golf with the boys and mommy got ready with the girls. Both mom and dad were in the wedding so it was great to have gramma on hand to help out!
Abby got to meet lots of friends and family this weekend and she certainly was the hit of the party (other than the bride and groom of course!). She was even able to sleep through part of the reception which was amazing considering the noise level! Abby had such a wonderful and exhausting time that she slept through the night both Friday and Saturday and mom had to wake her up to feed her. Sadly, I must report we are back to our normal waking up every few hours! Oh well, Mom enjoyed the 2 days of peaceful sleep! As we left the resort on Sunday, Abby was asleep within 30 seconds and didn't wake up until we got home.
We reached our 4 month old mark just before we left for the wedding! Its amazing how fast the time goes. We had our 4 month check up on Tuesday after the wedding. Everything is looking good. Abby weighs 11lbs 3 oz. she is 23.5 inches long. The doctor says she is growing on her own growth chart. Sad but true, she barely makes the curve.
The doctor has given us the okay to start trying some solid foods. We are going to start out with some rice cereal before bed to hopefully help us sleep a little better through the night. We will see if that works! I think we will hold off on starting most other solids for a month or so and see how she's doing. Mom doesn't think she is quite ready but she is very close.
She of course got another round of shots. So sad to see her upset. She recovered in the office pretty quickly but gramma had to deal with an unhappy baby for most of the day.
Abby had her first tumble a few days before we headed out for the wedding. We have all learned a valuable lesson. This girl can move! What was really interesting was Jack's response. Of course mom and dad were upset and making sure Abby was okay but Jack was VERY upset. He has never really heard Abby cry like that before. Once we had her settled back down and laying in her boppy on the couch, Jack came and snuggled right up next to her to make sure she was okay. It was very cute.
So we have lots of fun pictures to share. Hope you enjoy!
